Irish Dance Seminar - Las Vegas, Feb 09

We had a great time in Vegas. Michelle learned a lot of great stuff and we also got to see many cool things. Winning some cash on top of that was just a bonus. One of the coolest things we saw were the lions at the MGM Grand Hotel, which was just across the street from NY NY where we were staying. Here is a short video we took.

North American Irish Dance Championships

Michelle left for Nashville on Monday, June 30. She arrived in Nashville and her bags were in some other city. Hopefully Michelle's dancers have better luck than her at this year's North American Irish Dance Championships. Good luck to all the dancer's that made the trip down to music city, USA.

Children's Fitness Tax Credit

If you are still planning to take advantage of the 2007 children's fitness tax credit you are apparently filing your taxes late this year. Starting in the 2007 tax year, the Government of Canada allows a non-refundable tax credit for parents enrolling their kids in an eligible physical activity program, such as dance. To qualify, children must be under the age of 16 at the beginning of the year but other than that there are few restrictions. It is nice to see the government offering parents an incentive to keep their kids active.

Many activities and programs are eligible for this credit. To find out if the programs that you or your kids are enrolled in qualify for the credit, check out the eligibility checklist at: http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/whatsnew/checklist-e.html
